SunPy 8.0 Released

We are pleased to announce the latest release of sunpy, version 8.0.

In this major release, new features include:

  • Support for Phi and Metis instruments onboard Solar Orbiter

  • The integration of the Solar Orbiter Archive Fido client directly into sunpy

  • Support for Saving sunpy coordinates with Astropy Table

There are also plenty of bug fixes, documentation improvements, and smaller features.

To update you can run either:

pip install --upgrade sunpy (for pip users)

conda update sunpy (for conda users)
