I’d be honored to serve on the SunPy Steering Committee. I’ve been contributing to SunPy for over a decade, and most will know me as the sunpy.coordinates maintainer or through my fielding of questions related to WCS (World Coordinate System). I’m also the lead of SunPy’s ongoing funding from NASA, and I have previously served as a member of the SunPy Board and – for a brief stint – as the lead developer.
As a member of the Steering Committee, my emphasis will be on the (code) health of the SunPy ecosystem, which includes continuing to obtain funding for SunPy-associated development and leveraging/improving astropy or other packages that SunPy depends on.
