As required in SEP 2 this message announces the first election for the SunPy Steering Committee. The election will run for two weeks commencing on the 7th August.
Nominations will be open for two weeks starting on Monday 22nd July, details on how to nominate yourself or someone else to follow.
Anyone is eligible to serve on the steering committee, which leads the day-to-day operations of the SunPy Project, including its financial management. The committee is elected by the Project Custodians[1].
