Hello,
It’s been (just over) a year since the second Steering Committee election and therefore it’s time to run a new election. This post is a formal notification that there will be a Steering Committee election starting on the 8th October.
This year Laura Hayes’s term has expired, and therefore we are soliciting nominations for candidates for the election. For full details of the election process I refer you to SEP 2.
If you are interested in serving on the Steering Committee or you have a good candidate in mind please fill in this form, no later than the 2nd October: SunPy Steering Committee Nomination Form .
In addition to the election of a Steering Committee member this vote of the Project Custodians will also include:
- A Vote on adopting the NumFOCUS Code of Conduct: Proposal to Adopt the NumFOCUS Code of Conduct for SunPy
- A Vote on amending SEP 02 on the process for when the number of nominations equals the number of vacancies on the Steering Committee: Proposed SEP-2 Modification - Elected unopposed by Cadair · Pull Request #86 · sunpy/sunpy-SEP · GitHub [1]
- Hopefully, the election of a Project Ombudsperson.
I will also remind people that nominations to become a Project Custodian (and vote in these elections) are always open. Nominations for project custodians (self nominations welcomed) should be emailed to steeringcommittee@sunpy.org. To have the possibility of voting in this election the latest new nominations can be received is the 30th September (AoE).
Note: This election has been delayed by a number of weeks, this is primarily my fault as I was on parental leave and forgot all about it.
