DKIST is currently running a flare watch campaign: https://solarnews.aas.org/2026/dkist-announcement-cycle-4-flare-month-observing-information/
According to Yingjie Zhu and Laura on matrix there’s the possibility of coordinated observations with some or all of:
- IRIS
- Hinode
- BBSO
- Aditya-L1
- Solar Orbiter
- VLA
I think these data present a unique opportunity to stress test some of SunPy’s multi-observer and multi-mission tools and also some of our newer higher-dimensional data tools.
I’m therefore interested in if anyone would like to have a one or two day hack event where people knowledgeable in one or more of these data sources try and load, process and co-analyse these data using SunPy tools.
The objective of this would be to learn where the current tools are lacking, develop examples and documentation of reading these data, and working with them together.
If you are interested please post here, and we’ll move to organising something at point in the future where we expect the majority of the data to be available.
