# Ccdproc Produces 3 Layer Images

I am wondering why Astropy’s ccdproc produces three images or layers for each output fits file. I created an issue here ([Counts are too High Compared to Linux IRAF and 3 Images in a Single Fits File · Issue #806 · astropy/ccdproc · GitHub](https://github.com/astropy/ccdproc/issues/806)) but have not heard anything in a month. I am also curious if there is a way to just output the real image and not the deviation image or the mask because all three images in-flat the file size to 69 Mb.
